A THEATRE has put trigger warnings on 22 of its upcoming shows — with one even saying a Sherlock Holmes mystery has scenes about crime.
It says Sherlock Holmes: The Hunt for Moriarty contains “discussions of war and crime, possible death and murder”.

Other warnings include an Inspector Morse play tackling death while a Midsomer Murders drama contains “murder, death and crime”.
Bosses at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Gloucs, have left almost no production untouched on its 2025/26 calendar.
The Shawshank Redemption, Friends The Musical Parody and even three operas have trigger warnings attached.
Stephen King’s The Shawshank Redemption has “prison, nudity, suicide, death, violence, sexual themes, sexual violence” during the performance.
Freedom of speech advocate and member of the House of Lords Toby Young said: “If this theatre put on a production of the Nutcracker would it have to put on a warning saying, ‘may contain nuts’?”
Everyman Theatre said: “Trigger warnings exist so that people can make informed decisions.
“For most of the audience, a glance at the content warning board won’t mean much.
“But for some, those warnings are vital.
“We aim to make theatre accessible for all and that is why trigger warnings exist.”
