MINISTERS have been accused of wasting taxpayers’ cash on vanity projects — after splashing out on mirrors.
Three were installed at the Ministry of Justice — costing £212 — during a £13,000 refurbishment of Whitehall offices.

Sir Ashley said: “Spending big bucks on vanity projects may be the name of the game for this new Labour government, but this takes the biscuit.
“Labour should spend less time looking in the mirror and more time getting on with the job in hand.”
John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Taxpayers will consider this a shocking reflection of this government’s careless attitude to waste.
“Having spoken a good game in opposition, Labour ministers have shown a worrying willingness to reach for the government credit card now they’re in office.
“Rachel Reeves should be reminding colleagues to monitor every penny given her recent tax raid on families and businesses.”
The revamp included two new bookcases costing £64 and a £193 freezer.
Electrical work and cabling cost £4,107 and wear and tear repairs came to £7,240.
The ministry said spending followed value-for-money rules.
