THE STEPBROTHER of missing mum Gaynor Lord has said her disappearance is “proper out-of-character”.

Gaynor Lord, 55, vanished at 2.45pm on Friday – but her clothes, rings and mobile phone were found that evening in Norwich’s Wensum Park.

Norwich Constabulary declared her missing after they found her ID inside a handbag – and learned she’d failed to return home from work that evening.

Her white work shirt, yellow tank top, and jewellery were found spread out at different sites across the city centre park, while her olive-coloured coat was found in the water.

Today her step-brother Allan Weston made a desperate appeal for information.

He said: “We just hope she comes back safe.

“If anyone does know anything please come forward.

“It’s been a few days now since she went missing so we are very worried. This is proper out of character.

“She has never gone missing or anything like that before.”

Meanwhile another family member, who asked not to be named, told MailOnline: “There’s been lots of things being said, like ‘Has she run away with anybody?’ and things like that.

“It’s not very helpful. It’s hard enough as it is.”

Detectives searching for missing mum Gaynor are “linking in” with Nicola Bulley cops to understand “lessons learned”.

Gaynor was seen beaming as she left work at a gin concession at Jarrolds department store early at 2.44pm on Friday.

She was then filmed rushing – breaking into a run – through Norwich city centre, in the opposite direction to her home, before entering the cathedral area at 2.44pm.

Cops now believe she may have met with someone at the cathedral who could unlock the mystery of her disappearance.

Officers said it was crucial to account for the missing 34-minutes around the church grounds with enquiries into her home life showing Gaynor had no obvious concerns.

No further sightings of Gaynor were reported until 3.22pm when she was seen exiting the cathedral quarter.

The last sighting of her on CCTV was at 4.01pm between the cathedral and the park were her clothes were found.

Divers were yesterday searching the murky River Wensum with detectives working on the basis she had entered the water.

Norwich top cop Supt. Wes Hornigold stressed everything was being done to find Gaynor and understand why she had vanished – but admitted every passing day brought “more concern”.

Supt. Hornigold said: “The fact our working hypothesis is that she has gone in the water brings with it its own risks.

“As time goes by our concerns increase – as do the family’s as well, so we are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.”

3.53pm – Walks along St Crispins Road towards Pitt Street

4.01pm – Gaynor walks up St Augustines Street – her final movements captured in CCTV before going missing

He added: “In the CCTV Gaynor is seen smiling and walking with purpose which does not suggest an unusual mindset.

“The cathedral is currently a focus for us, there’s lots of work we are doing there to establish what happened in the gap in CCTV.

“We are working with people in the cathedral to try and understand what happened.”
