RISHI Sunak says this year’s general election will be a clear choice between Tory tax cuts or “waffle” from Sir Keir Starmer.

The Prime Minister outlines his 2024 mission as building a Britain where hard work is always rewarded.

Writing in today’s Sun on Sunday, he says: “Now, because we’ve made progress, in particular on the economy and driving down inflation, we are now in a position to do what we always said we’d do — and that is to cut taxes.”

He hailed the introduction of the 2p cut to National Insurance yesterday as a move that “every working person across the country will benefit from”.

He admits 2023 was not the easiest — but says Brits should feel confident that a “better year for Britain” now lies ahead.

And he tears into Labour chief Sir Keir, saying his only big idea is an “unfunded spending spree” of £28billion a year on eco measures.

Mr Sunak says: “The choice is a clear one between the Conservatives delivering for you and Labour, who won’t say what their plans are.

“They’ll try to take people for fools by saying what they think people want to hear.

“The choice facing our country is build on the progress we have made or Labour’s tired obsession with the same old politics — the same old evasions, illusions and waffle.

“A vote for Labour’s a vote for the same old failure to be straight with Britain and the same old endless short termism.”

The PM outlines the progress on his five priorities including halving inflation from 10.7 per cent this time last year to 3.9 per cent now.

On stopping the boats, he says the number of people coming illegally was down by over a third.

And he will pass legislation on Rwanda, seen as instrumental to getting deportation flights off the ground.
