Girl, 10, dies at home as cops arrest woman ‘known to her’ & launch murder probe

COPS have launched a murder probe after a girl died at her home.

The 10-year-old child was tragically discovered with injuries at an address in Rowley Regis, West Mids, on Monday.

Officers raced to Robin Close around 12.10pm where the youngster was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her cause of death is not yet known.

A woman, 33, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

West Midlands Police has said the suspect is known to the schoolgirl.

A cordon has been put in place while an investigation is carried out, say the force.

Detective Inspector Dan Jarratt said: “A young girl has tragically lost her life and our thoughts are with her loved ones and all those impacted by this terrible passing. 
 
“We know how shocking and distressing this will be for the community and we’ll continue to have a police presence and offer our support in the area over the coming days.
 
“A suspect has been arrested and detectives are fully investigating the circumstances around this sad death.”
