Girl, 15, and woman, 42, killed in horror crash that left 13-year-old seriously injured as driver arrested

A TEEN girl and woman have died in a horror crash that also left a 13-year-old seriously injured.

The tragedy unfolded in Oldham at around 4pm yesterday when two cars collided.

Sadly, a 15-year-old girl and 42-year-old woman were declared dead at the scene.

A 13-year-old was rushed to hospital where they were treated for serious injuried.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed a 35-year-old driver was arrested and remains in custody.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who saw a Black BMW X5 in the Ripponden Road area to get in touch.

A spokesperson said: “At around 4pm on Saturday 23 December 2023, Greater Manchester Police received reports of a serious road traffic collision between two vehicles on Ripponden Road, Oldham towards Denshaw.

“Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments before the collision took place.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 2304 of 23/12/2023.”

The tragedy comes after two teens were killed and three other people left seriously injured in a three-car crash in Northumberland.

Connor Lapworth, 18, was travelling in a Suzuki Vitara with 15-year-old Corey Mavin when they collided with a Range Rover and Ford Focus.
