West Mercia Police have since arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 31-year-old man on suspicion of rape after “extensive enquiries.”
Both remain in custody at this time as officers continue to probe the attack.
Cops are now searching for two 18-year-olds, described as a man and a woman, who helped the young girl after the horrific ordeal.
The two members of the public, who came to the assistance of the girl, have been asked to contact West Mercia Police.
Detective Superintendent Tony Garner said: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to quickly identify and detain two people in relation to this distressing incident.
“I would like to reassure you that we no longer believe there is any threat to the wider public.
“Our enquiries have established that the victim, a 17-year-old girl, was helped by two members of the public following the incident.
“They are described as a man and woman, both around 18 years old.
“They are not in any trouble, but we are keen to identity them as they may have important evidence which will help with our investigation.
“We would ask them to please get in touch with Detective Sergeant Leanne Mitchell as soon as possible.”
Officers remained on the scene yesterday as their enquiries into the horror attack continue.
