POLICE are desperately hunting a man after 17-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on a London bus in broad daylight.

The horror took place on board a number 235 bus travelling from Hounslow to Sunbury on Saturday, August 16.

Police have now released an image of a man they would like to speak with in connection with the incident.

Officers said the bus driver informed them that a passenger had rubbed his crotch against the girl before getting off the bus at Feltham.

The assault is alleged to have happened when the bus was near the Treaty Shopping Centre, with cops asking anyone who may have witnessed anything to come forward.

Police would like to speak to a man described as having dark hair, wearing sunglasses, a light-coloured t-shirt with a print on the back, cream-coloured shorts and a black backpack.

No arrests have been made in connection with the terrifying incident so far.

PC Stephanie Gillard from the Met’s Roads & Transport Policing team, said: “This is a highly disturbing incident for a young woman to go through.

“Women should be able to travel alone without fear and we are dedicated to protecting women and girls.

“We are carrying out enquiries and are supporting the victim as best as we can, but we now need your help.

“If you were on the 235 bus route that day or have any mobile phone footage from around the time the victim boarded the bus at 16:59hrs, then please call the police.

“If anyone recognises the man in the image please contact us on 101 quoting the reference 01/7623474/25.”
