GRAHAM POTTER is eyeing an instant return to management less than three weeks after his West Ham sacking.

And he has admitted that the vacant national team manager’s job in Sweden – a country he has close ties to – would be “fantastic”.

The hot seat suddenly opened up when Jon Dahl Tomasson was sacked on Tuesday.

Potter owns property in Sweden and spent eight years managing Ostersund, taking them from the fourth tier to the Europa League.

Asked about the prospect of taking over from Tomasson, Potter told Sportbladet: “I’m actually in Sweden right now, in my house.

“I’m open to anything, really, where I feel I can help. The job as manager for the Swedish national team is fantastic.

“I’m only 50 years old and I still have a lot to offer.

“It’s not about me finding a job at a specific level, but about finding something where I feel I can help and where I can make a difference. I also want to feel that we we are on the same page.”

Potter lasted less than seven months at Chelsea before being sacked in 2023.

He then waited two years for what he thought was the right job to come around, before lasting only eight months at West Ham.

Potter pocketed an eye-popping £13MILLION in compensation when he left Chelsea.

And that means he’s under no pressure to chase a big payday.

Potter added: “I’ve been lucky enough to have the career I’ve had. It’s meant that I’m in a very good position financially.

“It’s reached the level where I don’t have to consider finances as a reason to take a job or not.”
