A MotoGP cameraman had an incredibly close brush with death when a bike skipped up off the track during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Spaniard Pedro Acosta came off his Red Bull KTM early during Saturday’s qualifying, which saw him pipped to pole position by countryman Marc Marquez.

Acosta’s bike skidded along the track before bouncing up off the gravel towards one of the camera stands.
And the cameraman manning the stand, who was filming the other side of the track, narrowly escaped being hit by the bike as it crashed into the expensive bit of kit.
MotoGP‘s official X account shared a clip of the incredible scene.
Their accompanying caption read: “Our cameraman, Joao, avoiding @37_pedroacosta’s bike impact is probably the most shocking video you’ll see today!”
“We’re so glad to see he’s ok!”
Footage of the incredible scene went viral and stunned viewers.

Camerman Joao, incredibly, shrugged off the potentially life-ending incident.
He gave a thumbs-up before going back to what he does best.
Fan favourite Acosta made sure to check on Joao after the near miss, embracing him before saying: “I see you’re better now than when it happened.”

Joao said: “Yeah, I saw you looking up there.”
Acosta replied: “Yeah, yeah. The bike went pretty high.”
He then asked: “So, you’re okay?” Joao replied: “Yeah, yeah.
“The bike didn’t touch me [but] it did hit the camera, luckily.”
Joao then said: “Well, the camera can be fixed.”
