TRIBUTES have been paid to a “cherished” mum and daughter who sadly died in a horror crash during Storm Babet.
Cheryl Woods, 61, and Sarha Smith, 40, were travelling on the M4 when the tragedy unfolded on Friday.

Five vehicles – four cars and a lorry – were involved in the deadly smash, which came as Babet battered the country.
Tragically both Cheryl and mum-of-six Sarha couldn’t be saved and were declared dead at the scene.
Their family said in a moving tribute today: “Cheryl Woods, cherished by those in her life, fulfilled the roles of a loving mother, doting grandmother, cherished sister, and a dear friend.
“Her selflessness was a defining trait, consistently prioritising her family’s well-being over her own, and she took immense pride in her Welsh heritage while nurturing a deep love for nature.
“Sarha Smith, in the footsteps of her mother, unselfishly devoted herself to her family’s needs ahead of her own. She was not only a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, but her absence leaves a void for those who relied on her radiant presence.
“Her legacy lives on through her six daughters, who will forever hold her memory close and strive to honour her with their efforts.”
The crash took place at around 9.10am on Friday on the eastbound carriageway between junction 17 at Chippenham and junction 18 at Bath.
Two others involved were treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
Wiltshire Police confirmed Chery and Sarha’s deaths were believed to be related to the weather.
A total of seven people have sadly died after Storm Babet ripped through the country.
