ONE savvy punter is saying merci beaucoup to William Hill after landing a colossal £53k from a £2 Lucky 15 placed on Wednesday’s action in Dieppe, France.

The remarkable win was secured at a William Hill shop in Cramlington, just north of Newcastle, where the mystery customer placed the modest £30 total stake before the morning races.

The winning slip

Dieppe 10.20am – Register (10/1)
Dieppe 10.51am – Folly Foot (14/1)
Dieppe 11.23am – Golden Falls (12/1)
Dieppe 11.55am – Astorius (7/1)

Total stake: £30
Total return: £53,220.20

The bet got off to a flying start with Register (10/1) winning the opening race at 10.20am. That success was followed up by impressive victories for Folly Foot (14/1) at 10.51am and Golden Falls (12/1) at 11.23am.

The win was completed when Astorius (7/1) triumphed in the 11.55am contest, sealing the punter’s massive five-figure return.

Lee Phelps, spokesperson for William Hill, said: “It was only on Monday that we were reeling from a £23k racing payout, and we’re here again after another punter pulled off an even more remarkable bet.

“They’ve managed to turn £30 into over £50k after landing their £2 Lucky 15 on this morning’s action from Dieppe, placed in our Cramlington shop, just north of Newcastle.

“It’s not every day that you head to your local William Hill shop, place an each-way Lucky 15, and walk away with £53,220.20, so we just have to salute this customer.

“We’ll be hoping there aren’t any more of these big racing winners on the horizon, as we’ve had our fill of them this week!”
