Shoppers in Leeds enjoyed a good laugh at their expense
Shoppers in Leeds enjoyed a good laugh at their expense with one saying as he filmed it: “That is so funny.”
The bobbies were forced to get out of the motor and wait for council engineers to fix the bollard.
It mirrors a similar incident three years ago in the same area of the city centre when another police car got stuck on a bollard as it raised up.
West Yorkshire Police said of the latest incident: “A police vehicle was damaged in Kirkgate on December 6 when malfunctioning barriers.
The barriers had been lowered for the car to drive over, rose unexpectedly as the police vehicle was passing over them.
“The officers involved were not injured and the car was recovered for repair.
“The barrier fault was reported to Leeds City Council.”
