SHOCKING video shows the devastating aftermath of a gas explosion that collapsed the side of a 20-story apartment tower on Wednesday.
Emergency rescue units responded to the harrowing scene in New York City just after 8 am using dogs and drones to search the rubble for victims or survivors.

Aerial photos showed a gaping hole on the side of one of the towers at the New York City Housing Authority’s Mitchel Houses in the Bronx’s Mott Haven neighborhood.
The explosion ripped through the incinerator shaft of the building, the New York City Fire Department told The U.S. Sun.
It’s unclear if any apartments were affected by the blast.
A search for survivors or victims in the rubble in underway, however, the FDNY said there are no reported injuries at the moment.
The collapse occurred as some residents in the area were heading to work and dropping their children off at the nearby school.
A witness recalled hearing a “big boom” moments before the side of the building collapsed to the ground.
“When you looked out, the whole building just went boom, it fell,” Diamond Freeman told Pix11.
“Then you heard another boom, and all the side of the building just fell.
“It was crazy. All you see is smoke.”
Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, said he was aware of the situation and urged residents to avoid the area.
“New Yorkers, I have been briefed about the emergency situation taking place in the Mott Haven area of the Bronx,” Adams wrote on X.
“We are getting a full assessment from first responders and will continue to provide updates. Please avoid the area for your safety.”
