Two knifemen are then seen chasing down their rivals, who take refuge in a fish and chip shop.

The thugs attempt to force entry into the shop, but it appears to have been locked from the inside.

The incident took place at around midday outside Stockwell tube station.

Police were called just before 2pm and were on the scene in three minutes, the force confirmed.

A 16-year-old suffered a laceration to his head, but the injury was not serious, cops said.

He was subsequently arrested by police.

Police were called just before 2pm and were on the scene in three minutes, confirmed the force.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Seton said an investigation into the ‘disturbing’ incident is underway and appealed for any information from those who witnessed the fight.

DCI Seton, of Central South Command Unit, said: “This was a shocking and disturbing incident, which took place at a busy location in broad daylight.

“Many members of the public were present and it must have been extremely alarming and distressing for them. Police officers were on scene within three minutes and quickly made an arrest.

“I would like to reassure the community that an investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing.

“I would encourage anyone who witnessed the event to contact police on 101 quoting CAD 3597/23 Feb.

The Sun Online has reached out to Metropolitan Police for comment.

It comes after dramatic footage snapped the moment off-duty cops ditched their post-work pints to take down a crazed knife-wielding attacker.

A horde of unarmed officers from the Met’s Gangs & Pro-Active Team were caught on camera racing to apprehend the suspect who was threatening a man begging for his life in South London.

Joseph Jimenez, 19, is then seen hurling the large blade wildly at cops before police tackle him onto a public bench in Elephant and Castle last July.

Two groups of youths had been involved in a skirmish when one was struck over the head and a dog was set on him.

Jimenez, now 20, was jailed for eight months for being in possession of the blade and four months for affray when sentenced at Croydon Crown Court yesterday.

Elsewhere, home security cameras caught the moment three machete-wielding thugs broke into a businessman’s £1.5million home before threatening to murder his wife.

The shameless raiders then made off in couple’s £110,000 Audi following the brazen act at around 7.20am in Horsforth, West Yorkshire on February 5.

Dramatic home security footage captured the morning raid at the home of Hugh Boyle, 56, and his wife Samantha Alley, 43, in the Leeds suburb.

It shows three masked and hooded assailants entering the gated property through the front door.

The camera then cuts to the shameless thugs entering the homeowner’s £110,000 Audi clutching bags of ransacked goods – including Rolex watches and jewellery.
