Horror as five-month-old baby dies after cops rush to Colchester home – with man, 23, and woman, 22, arrested

A MAN and a woman have been arrested over the death of a five-month-old baby.

Cops rushed to Seatrade House, North Station Road, Colchester, at 6.15am on tuesday to reports of concerns over the welfare of a baby.

A five-month-old has died

The tot was taken to hospital but sadly died.

Cops are treating the death as “unexpected” – and two people have been arrested.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating the death of a baby in Colchester.

“We were called to a property in North Station Road, Colchester, by colleagues in the ambulance service shortly after 6.15am on Tuesday, April 2, following concerns for the welfare of a baby.

“The five-month-old was taken to hospital, but has, sadly, died.

“Their death is being treated as unexpected and will be further investigated.

“A 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child and released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue.”
