COPS have launched an urgent “kidnap probe” after a girl was allegedly bundled into a back of a van.
A woman who had been walking her dog on Jobs Lane in Coventry reported to West Midlands Police that a young girl had been “kidnapped” on Tuesday evening.
She claimed that the youngster was bundled into the back of a van, which then drove off towards Jardine Crescent.
West Midlands Police confirmed they are now investigating the reported kidnapping.
Officers were dispatched at around 10pm on Tuesday.
The force said enquiries were conducted, but no offences were disclosed.
Cops said witnesses can provide any information they have in relation to the incident by calling 101.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Jardine Crescent, Coventry, shortly after 10pm yesterday (August 19).
“Officers attended and carried out further enquiries, with no offences being disclosed.”
