A MAN was spotted approaching primary school children reportedly carrying a large kitchen knife as they walked home from school.
An urgent hunt is now underway for the man after terrified children told staff at Hardwick Primary School in Banbury, Oxfordshire, what they saw.

The school said a group of its students reported they saw a man wearing black clothes and wielding a knife at around 4pm on Tuesday.
They claim he approached one of the children while they were in Hardwick Park, causing them to leave and return home.
The school added that no children had been hurt in the terrifying incident.
A statement from the school seen by the Oxford Mail said: “A group of children at Hardwick have reported to staff a concerning incident that occurred in Hardwick Park after school yesterday.
“When we receive such reports, we inform the police, families and our students and staff, so that they can remain vigilant.
“A group of our students have reported that on Tuesday, March 18 at approximately 4pm, the children witnessed a man wearing black clothes holding a large kitchen knife.”
Police have yet to comment on the incident.
The school’s statement added: “He approached one of the children and they left the park and returned home.
“No children were hurt in this incident.
“This matter has been reported to the police by the school today.”
