BRAZILIAN ROSE (7.15 Newcastle, nap)
She has been in fantastic form for Rebecca Menzies and made it three wins on the spin with loads left in the tank here on Friday. She has formed a potent partnership with today’s rider Kaiya Fraser who can make full use of his 3lb claim today. The most recent success came in an apprentices’ race by more than two lengths and she’s able to race off just 1lb higher today. The step up to seven furlongs holds no fears and a four-timer is definitely on the cards.
AYIKO (1.00 Ayr, nb)
Went close in a much stronger race than this at Fairyhouse last month. That was his first crack at three miles and he had no issue getting home. He won his bumper here so we know he handles the track and there’s a lot more to come.
PENELOPE VALENTINE (6.45 Newcastle, treble)
She has gone close on both her all-weather outings with a pair of close seconds at Southwell. This extra furlong looks a wise move and she can get off the mark.
ACHILLE DES ROCS (3.25 Leicester)
Completes the Lucky 15. After a promising start at Market Rasen, he scored at Southwell before following up in a battle at Catterick latest. A 4lb rise for that looks fair and this trip is ideal. He looks capable of taking another step forward.
