TEMPLEGATE tackles Sunday’s racing confident of continuing his good run of form.

PRIDE OF NEPAL (1.52 Brighton, nap).

Trainer Tony Carroll has lots of joy at the Sussex track and this seven-year-old scored in this race 12 months ago. He’s only 1lb higher in the handicap today despite running some decent races this season. He was right on the premises again at Goodwood earlier this month when beaten just two lengths in decent company. We know trip and track suit and he’s fine with decent ground. His amateur rider is capable of steering him home in front again.

ALSHIMALI (4.52 Brighton, nb)

Won nicely on his last run here and was bang in the mix again at Windsor last time out. That was over six furlongs but this minimum suits him much better and the handicapper has left his mark alone. He’s another Carroll runner who should be leaving with prizemoney today.

KING OF THE STORY (2.10 Worcester, treble)

Has every chance of landing a hat-trick of wins over this course and distance. He had plenty in hand in winning his last two and an 8lb rise should not be enough to put the brakes on Polly Gundry’s nine-year-old.
