LADY BALKO (2.45 Lingfield, nap)
Has plenty of staying power in the Surrey National. Trainer David Pipe is having his best season for many years with almost a quarter of his chasers winning. This strong mare has contributed three victories to that tally, all coming over trips that stretch stamina. The ground was testing at Hereford too a couple of runs ago when she finished with plenty left in the tank. She can bounce back from a rare blip at Newbury last time on this drop in grade. Her staying power will be an asset over a trip that will take plenty of getting.
OPTICIAN (6.00 Southwell, nb)
His recent form has been excellent with a win and two podium efforts at Wolverhampton heading here. He saves his best for this 1m6f distance and Rossa Ryan was on board the last time he got his head in front.

Had plenty left in the tank when winning at Southwell last time. She likes this trip and is still on a fair mark.
