The blow out occurred during the closing stages of a 1-0 win against Manchester City.

Ramsey had been played in on goal during stoppage time and chose to shoot instead of passing to Van Persie, who was chasing an individual accolade.

The Dutchman was furious with his team-mate, with their argument continuing into the changing room and descending into a full on fight.

When quizzed on it, a shocked Ramsey told Optus Sport: “How did you get this info?”

The reporter was forced to admit: “Theo Walcott said it on a podcast.”

The Wales captain added: “Theo yeah. Lets say we did get have a bit of words exchanged.

“It was all because I went through on goal and I was thinking I just had to it the target and I’ve scored.

“I ended up blazing it over the bar. And Robin was free across the six-yard area. At the time he was going for the golden boot.

“And I think Wayne Rooney was close and when we came in after the game, we were all buzzing cause we’d just beaten Man City.

“But he was a bit angry. So there were a few words exchanged after the game.”

Walcott has now revealed that manager Arsene Wenger ignored the fight and left the players to sort it out themselves.

Walcott told the Overlap in 2023: “Aaron went clean through at the end, he should have squared it to him and Robin scores.

“We were all happy and then Robin goes off on one with Aaron.

“It gets all heated and players are getting thrown all over the place.

“I remember seeing Arsene [Wenger], sort of, slip past and go to his back office because he thought the players will just deal with this. He would get the team to deal with the problems.”

Despite not being teed up to score by Ramsey, Van Persie still went on to win the Golden Boot with 30 Premier League goals.
