A CAR has burst into flames at Heathrow Airport.

Footage shows the fire burning in the terminal 3 multi-storey car park – which was evacuated and closed.

It comes as all four lanes on the M25 were shut, cutting off access to the airport following an unrelated serious crash earlier this morning.

A man can be seen in the video sat in a nearby car as the fire roars.

It is unclear how it started – though there are claims on X, where the video was shared, that it involves an electric car.

Further footage from outside shows smoke billowing into the sky.

Arriva announced “due to a fire in Heathrow” its 724 bus service will now be starting and terminating from terminal 5.

A post said the service “will be unable to serve the Greenways stop or Lees Road stop in both directions”.

A Heathrow spokesperson said: “Earlier this morning our teams responded to a small vehicle fire in the Multi Storey Car Park for Terminal 3.

“The fire was quickly extinguished.

“The car park is temporarily closed which may cause some congestion on surrounding roads.

“This is an isolated incident and all other car parks at Heathrow are operating as normal.

“We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience.”
