ANGELA Rayner put down a £150,000 deposit on her new £800,000 seaside pad.

Land Registry documents reveal she took out a £650,000 mortgage with NatWest bank in May on the three-bedroom apartment in Hove, East Sussex.

Mortgage experts said by that putting down a 25 per cent deposit on the new pad, the Deputy PM was able to benefit from more favourable interest rates.

And it has now been reported her name has been removed from the deeds of her four-bedroom constituency property in Ashton- under-Lyne, Lancs.

The revelation comes as Ms Rayner yesterday faced calls for an independent sleaze inquiry over allegations she dodged paying the full amount of stamp duty and council tax.

Labour MP Graham Stringer told Times Radio: “I think the optics of what she’s doing are really rather difficult.

“I’ve no idea if she’s broken any rules.”

He went on to suggest it was “looking as though you are manipulating the tax system to your benefit” — without directly accusing Ms Rayner of that.

Yesterday, it was said the Ashton-under-Lyne home is still listed as Ms Rayner’s main residence even though she no longer appears to be living there or has any ownership of it.

It is claimed she avoided £40,000 in stamp duty — paying £30,000 instead of a potential £70,000 — by reportedly telling HMRC the new Hove flat was her main home.

A property expert said: “Although it is allowed, it appears calculated to save money.”

The third home linked to Ms Rayner is her grace- and-favour property in Admiralty House, central London, where her council tax is paid by the taxpayer.

The Tories have called for an ethics probe into Ms Rayner, with party chairman Kevin Hollinrake accusing her of “staggering hypocrisy”.

There is no suggestion the Deputy PM has broken the law.

She was seen earlier this month enjoying family time in Hove, including sitting in a dinghy in the sea, while clutching a vape.

We approached Ms Rayner for comment about her selling her share of the Ashton-under-Lyne property.
