DISNEY’S Epcot theme park in Orlando, Florida, has caught fire and sent a huge plume of black smoke into the sky.

The blaze led to the evacuation of the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride on Saturday as the fumes flew high near the replica Eiffel Tower.

Crowds at the theme park stood in shock around the faux Parisian neighbourhood as their magical day was interrupted by serious danger.

Fire engines rushed to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze.

A spokesperson from Disney said the blaze at Walt Disney World Resort happened in a walk-in cooler.

The walk-in cooler was housed behind the France Pavilion in a backstage area.

France Pavilion is part of the World Showcase at the resort’s Epcot theme park.

There were no injuries, but the cause of the fire was not immediately known.

A local official said the fire was quickly put out by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District fire department.

The pavilion reopened to theme park guests in the early evening.
