A FORMER Manchester United midfielder – who played alongside the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and John O’Shea – is now without a club.

The 35-year-old joined United’s academy in 2004 and made his first team debut for the club during the 2006-07 season.

His first – and only – goal for the senior team came on his debut in a League Cup match against Crewe Alexandra.

After coming on as a substitute for David Gray in the 77th minute, he scored the winning goal in added time as the Red Devils progressed to the fourth round.

But despite his successful cameo, the midfielder made just three appearances for the Man Utd first team in total.

And only one of those outings came in the Premier League.

The player in question is, of course, Kieran Lee.

During his final season at Old Trafford, Lee was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers for four months.

He made eight appearances for QPR, but failed to score or provide any assists.

The midfielder then joined Oldham Athletic on a free transfer, where he made 134 appearances in four years.

Kieran Lee left Bolton this summerRex

Following his stint in Oldham, he signed for Sheffield Wednesday where he became a fan favourite.

He scored 22 goals and provided 15 assists in 217 appearances during his eight-year spell at Hillsborough between 2012 and 2020.

Lee eventually joined Bolton in January 2021 but was released this summer when his contract expired.
