A WOMAN who thought she’d bought an adorable pug puppy was left horrified after it turned into a gremlin lookalike.
Dorothy, from Chicago, could not believe it when her pet started to resemble one of the folkloric mischievous creatures known for wreaking havoc.

Instead of becoming a round, cute and fury little animal, her pug puppy developed into a hairless, grumpy-looking mut.
In a video uploaded onto TikTok, the dog owner showed the amusing pictures of her pet.
The video is appropriately captioned: “Expectation vs. reality”.
That’s because the 12 second clip begins with multiple images of a cute looking pug puppy that the dog owner had expected to get.
The video then proceeds to show images of the actual dog, with viewers able to see how dissimilar it looks.
While there is no initial mention of why the pug looks the way it does, Dorothy reveals “she was born without fur” in response to another user in the comments section.
Dorothy tells another commenter that she thinks her pug is mixed with a Mexican hairless dog breed called Xolo.
She goes on to explain that they conducted a DNA test and found that her pet was “87% pug 13% other”.
While the pug puppy may not have turned out to be what she initially expected, Dorothy (@dorthosaurus) still takes good care of her.
She provides her dog with plenty of sweaters to keep her warm, explaining that she gets “super chilly” in the winter.
However, people could not hold themselves back from offering their opinions on the bald canine and made some humorous comparisons.
One person joked: “He looks like Samuel L Jackson lols.”
Another added: “Looks like a species from Star Wars. A cute one tho.”
A third laughed: “Why is it inside out.”
Dorothy’s dog also drew comparisons to Frank the Pug from Men In Black.
Elsewhere, a man who thought he had bought a puppy received the shock of his life when he realised it was a different creature all together.
The owner was stunned to discover as the animal grew it became less canine like and began to develop a bushy tail and pointed ears.
And a couple were left equally stunned when the adorable German Shepherd puppy they bought off Craigslist turned out to be something completely different.
TikToker Logan shared a video of the cute-looking pup that she named Ivy – who indeed looks like a German shepherd.
