LUKE LITTLER believes he was “born with no nerves” — but has no desire to be throwing darts at 50.

The Nuke’s fearless mindset on the oche has won 11 titles in 14 months, notably the World Championship and Premier League crown.

There were signs he was feeling the pressure when he broke down in tears after a second-round win at Ally Pally in December.

But apart from that, he has approached every high-profile game with maturity and composure way beyond his years.

On darts referee Huw Ware’s new podcast, the 18-year-old said: “There’s been a few times where I felt nervous.

“But I think: ‘Just enjoy it and you won’t get nervous’.

“When you’re playing, you get the first leg or two, and you settle in.

“Even if the opponent comes back at you, you’ve got the game to come back. But I’m sure I was born with no nerves.”

The Ryan Meikle game, in which the tears flowed, Littler won 3-1, hitting a tournament record average of 140.91 in the final set.

The world No 2 recalled: “I remember waiting for Ryan to walk on. I felt fine.

“Doing my walk-on, I loved it. Seeing friends and family. But then I stepped on that stage and I was like: ‘Wow’.

“I could feel it in my body — you don’t want to be here.

“I thought: ‘I’m going to walk into this game, I’m going to be totally fine’.

“That’s probably one of the biggest games I’ve won.”

And while the teen has time to catch Phil Taylor’s 16 world titles, he will not still be playing in 2057.

The Warrington lad said: “I won’t be playing at 50.

“I could wake up tomorrow, the fire’s gone out of my belly, and I wanna retire. So maybe I can’t achieve it.”

Littler lost 6-3 to Joe Cullen in the last 32 of Players Championship 1 — an event he won last year.
