AN illegal migrant who was being housed in a Hilton hotel and raped a woman in Hyde Park has now been pictured.

Egyptian Abdelrahmen Adnan Abouelela, 42, lured his victim to a secluded spot in the central London park to carry out his depraved attack on November 4 last year.

Abouelela arrived in the UK illegally in April 2023 after claiming he was held as a political prisoner and tortured in his native country.

The married father-of-one had been living in the four-star taxpayer funded Hampton by Hilton Hotel, in Ealing, West London, Southwark Crown Court heard.

Abouelela denied the charge but was convicted by a jury of rape after a trial in May.

Judge Gregory Perrins told Abouelela he thought nothing of his victim who was under the influence of alcohol.

He said: “You made the decision to take advantage of her vulnerability.

“You simply did not care that she could not consent.

“You were driven purely by your own sexual desires.”

Abouelela was sentenced to eight and a half years imprisonment.

At the trial, defence barrister Kane Sharpe said Abouelela was later diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorder and complex PTSD.

But Judge Perrins said the connection between the diagnosis and the crime was “minimal”.

Judge Perrins, continued: “There is little connection between those circumstances and your decision to rape the victim on that night.

“It’s clear to me you do not believe you have done anything wrong.”

The judge further commended the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, for her “immense bravery and courage”.

Abouelela now faces deportation because his sentence exceeded 12 months.
