TRAGIC boxing great Ricky Hatton sent a heartfelt message to a child bullying victim just days before he died – urging the boy to “keep your chin up”.
The late fighter, nicknamed the Hitman, told the youngster not to give up on boxing after being taunted at school.

The brave boy and his mum had reached out to the Brit ring legend, found dead this morning (sun) aged 46, after the ten-year-old was the victim of vile bullies at school.
The family were stunned when the four-time world champion responded with a personal video message last Wednesday.
He offered invaluable advice to the aspiring fighter and told him he could beat his bullies by gaining confidence in the ring.
In the 30-second clip, Ricky tells the youngster: “I believe you’ve been having a tough time at school by a couple of bullies.
“Don’t worry about it my mate, that’s nothing new.
“Even I had a bully when I was at school.
“But you’ve done the right thing taking up the boxing, not so you can get your own back on him and beat him up, but boxing gives you confidence, doesn’t it?
“And the minute these bullies see you’ve got a little bit of confidence, they’ll leave you alone.
“So I think you’ve done the right thing mate.
“Keep your chin up, and I wish you all the best with the boxing. Good luck, son.”
The boy’s mum posted the video online just six days ago and yesterday said that Ricky’s sudden death meant it would be “treasured forever”.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said: “It’s amazing that Ricky sent this to us when he was clearly so low himself.
“It showed how kind he was, and it meant a lot to me and my son.
“It is something we will treasure.”

Sporting icon Hatton was found dead at his home in Manchester this morning, with tributes flooding in from every corner of the globe.
Oasis superfan Hatton, who was awarded an MBE, had worked as a boxing promoter and trainer since hanging up his gloves in 2012.
He also appeared on the TV show Dancing on Ice last year.
Tributes have flooded in for the legendary down-to-earth fighter with countless stories of his generosity and good humour.
Fellow boxer Tyson Fury wrote on Instagram: “Rip to the legend Ricky Hatton, may he RIP. There will only ever be 1 Ricky Hatton. Can’t believe this. So young.”
Piers Morgan wrote on X: “RIP Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, 46. Found dead at his home in Manchester, police say no suspicious circumstances. What incredibly sad news.”
Former world champion Amir Khan wrote in a touching post: “Today we lost not only one of Britain’s greatest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton.”
Manchester City and Man Utd also paid tribute with a minute’s applause ahead of the Manchester derby.
Both sets of players wore black armbands to honour the legendary boxer following his death.
