Dubois downed Usyk in the fifth round, but the significant punch was deemed a low blow by the referee, who then allowed the veteran almost four minutes to recover, before he went on to KO the Brit in the ninth.

Since their first bout, Usyk has secured back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury and became an undisputed world heavyweight champion after his first victory.

The boxing icon was forced to give up his IBF title after claiming all four belts, as in order to have the rematch with the Gypsy King, it meant he was unable to fulfil his duties against the mandatory challenger, which was then Dubois.

DDD was later upgraded to IBF champion and he established his status by brutally knocking out fellow Brit Anthony Joshua last September.

Dubois now bids to become Britain’s first undisputed heavyweight champ since Lennox Lewis and claim revenge on Usyk.

But the current WBC, WBA and WBO king has his sights set on becoming a two-time undisputed champion, a feat only previously accomplished by Muhammad Ali in the WBA-WBC two-belt era.

Tonight’s mammoth bout under the arch promises to be a thriller – but is there scope for a trilogy fight between the two?

OLEKSANDR USYK and Daniel Dubois meet again in a blockbuster heavyweight unification fight at Wembley Stadium THIS SATURDAY!

Usyk won the first fight in August 2023 via a ninth round KO – but only after Dubois knocked him to the canvas with a body blow that was ruled a low blow.

Dubois, 27, has improved massively since that first meeting, reeling off stunning wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.

Is there a rematch trilogy clause in Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2?

Should Dubois pull off a huge shock on home soil this evening, a trilogy fight between the two would likely be on the cards, but there is no contractual clause agreed between the two for a third bout.

Dynamite’s promoter Frank Warren told Sky Sports earlier this month: “It shows that boxing’s very much alive in this country.

“We’ve got to see what happens after the fight. It’ll be one a piece.”

That said, Dubois is convinced that should he dethrone Usyk, he will be on course for an all-British clash with Fury.

The Londoner said: “Certainly. That’s a good position to be in. To be the man. You’ve got to come to me for all the belts if you want to be making some money and being in big-time boxing. It’s a good position.

“For sure, the future’s bright, when the heavyweight division is healthy, business is good.

“It’ll be like a bringing of a new era. The old guys sort of fading out and a new crop coming through.”

On the flip side, should Usyk secure a second victory over Dubois, it’s unlikely the Brit would get another immediate shot at the Ukrainian following Fury’s announcement that he will be coming out of retirement for a trilogy bout with Usyk on April 18, 2026.

So it seems the most likely way we will see Dubois and Usyk go at it for a third time, would be for DDD to walk out of Wembley with all four belts this evening.
