JUBILANT Jayson Shaw hopes his son does not break his latest pool trophy as he celebrated another stunning Mosconi Cup success.

Scotland’s pool superstar was the Most Valuable Player as he skippered Europe to a 11-6 victory over the United States on Tuesday night in Orlando.

It was his seventh victory in the nineball team competition in nine attempts, one less than the Euros record of eight wins held by Dutchman Niels ‘The Terminator’ Feijen.

After jumping on the table with all his teammates, star man Shaw had to pack his bags for a 7am flight on Wednesday back to the UK.

And after “his best Mosconi Cup”, he is desperate to see his wife and two children after putting his heart and soul into Europe’s fifth successive title.

Shaw, 36, told SunSport: “After the last few wins, I’ve stayed some extra days but had a few bad hangovers that lasted like a week.

“This time I want to get home, back to my family. I want to see my kids. I have been away for three weeks.

“Before I left, I gave my Reyes Cup runners-up trophy to my son Connor and he loved it.

“When I left, he dropped the trophy and it smashed. He was so sad.

“Okay, I said, I will get you one this week. I won the MVP so I’m looking forward to giving my son that trophy and making him happy.

“It’s wild when you win. There are thousands of people there. The emotions are high, the energy is great. Super delighted of the boys and how they kept themselves together.

“I’ve got many more years in front of me. By the end of my career, I’m hoping to be around the 14-15 win mark.”

Shaw claimed this was his “most stressful” Mosconi Cup as he had to combine practising with phone calls to the other four guys, booking their Airbnbs and sorting out rental cars.

The event is set to be held in London in 2025 but the Glasgow-born cueist would love to see it staged in his home country at some point in the coming years.

Eagle Eye said: “I’ve spoken to the organisers about getting something in Scotland, maybe a Scottish Open. They’ve looked into it.
