TOTTENHAM captain Son Heung-min had to intervene as James Maddison and Pedro Porro squabbled over free-kick duty.

Spurs were 1-0 against AZ Alkmaar just before the break when the set-piece was awarded.

Maddison picked up the ball ready to take it but was challenged by Porro – who tried to grab it from him.

The two were then in a heated exchange of words before skipper Son get between the two for Maddison to take the free-kick.

One fan said: “This is so embarrassing.”

Another fumed: “I hate this nonsense with a passion.”

One said: “Son Heung-min, a footballer with zero haters.”

Another joked: “Why do they have to keep embarrassing me.”

Maddison actually doubled Spurs’ lead on 48 minutes and was joined in celebration by Porro.
