But he suffered an injury and his pace quickly deteriorated after the halfway point.

Terry, 44, was spotted by TV cameras limping at one point, and it took him 55 minutes to go from the 35k point to 40k.

To make matters worse the former England captain appeared to be bleeding from one of his nipples.

Fortunately, Morris decided to wait for his friend to try and spur him on for a little while, before leaving Terry to fend for himself.

Fans applauded Terry’s effort and his commitment to reach the finish line despite his injury.

One reacted saying: “Jody Morris diligently waiting for John Terry who appeared to be limping and having quite the time of it ”
