And he notched the first defence of his heavyweight title with a STUNNING spinning back kick KO of former champion Stipe Miocic.
Attention has turned to what’s next for the 265lbs champ, who was quick to rule out a unification bout with his interim counterpart Aspinall.
He said in the post-fight press conference: “I’m not really worried about the Tom fight, I’m worried about the [Alex] Pereira fight.
“That’s what I want to do.
“I think if the UFC wants to have me back, I think that’s the fight they’ll make.
“I’ve been very clear about my intentions.
“I don’t want to fight dangerous up-and-comers anymore. I want to fight dangerous, established champions.
“Tom can have the heavyweight championship, I don’t really care about it… I want Pereira.”

Jon Jones trolled Tom Aspinall and MMA fans by changing his Instagram profile picture to a picture of a duck with a UFC title
And just hours after attempting to once again shatter Aspinall’s “dream” of fighting him, Jones trolled the Brit with a cheeky Instagram update.
Jones, 37, changed his profile picture on the social media website to a snap of a duck holding a UFC title.
The photo was in reference to fight fans’ claims he’s “ducking” Aspinall, who very much agrees with that notion.
One MMA fan said of the profile picture change: “Love it.”
Another said: “Dope.”
And another said: “The Greatest Duck of all time.”
One remarked with a laughing emoji “Embracing the hate.”
Another chimed in: “At least he’s finally honest with himself & the audience. I’ll give him that.”
Minutes after sending Miocic into retirement, Jones revealed that he’s temporarily shelved his own plans to lay down his gloves.
But he’ll walk away from the sport for good if the UFC brass don’t give him a blockbuster showdown with Pereira.
SunSport’s live coverage was brought to you in association with TNT Sports Box Office.
