Henderson, 35, had interest from across Europe but prioritised a move back to the Premier League.
And Brentford have won the race to sign him.
According to The Athletic, a medical and paperwork will be done over the weekend but an official announcement is not expected until next week.
That is out of respect to his former team-mate Diogo Jota and his family – following the Liverpool star’s tragic death aged 28 this month.
Henderson was one of several to pay tribute to Jota – who died in a car accident with his brother Andre – outside Anfield last week.
Henderson made 492 appearances for Liverpool in 12 years at the club after he signed from Sunderland in 2011.
The former Anfield captain left Merseyside in 2023 to join Saudi side Al-Ettifaq – but the move lasted just six months.
He then joined Ajax and made 57 appearances before deciding to leave the Eredivisie outfit.
