Time’s up for Mili & Net Zero after this debacle
THE emergency recall of Parliament was a national humiliation for Ed Miliband.
Ridiculed on the floor of the House, this fanatical prophet of Net Zero fled the Commons chamber after only an hour.

What made the Energy Secretary leg it in such a public manner yesterday on a vital energy debate?
Perhaps it was because one Tory speaker after another reminded him that his own policies are the reason for the emergency recall in the first place.
Miliband’s virtue-signalling push for Net Zero fuelled the rocketing energy costs which have driven the Chinese owners of British Steel to the brink.
Last year, he banned a new mine in Cumbria intended solely to produce coal for steel-making.
Now the Government has had to ship in coal from Japan and pass an emergency law to save our last steelworks in Scunthorpe, which has edged just hours away from a permanent shutdown.
Closure would cost 3,000 jobs and leave Britain, which already has the world’s highest industrial electricity prices, in the shameful position of being the only G7 country unable to produce new steel.
At a time of increased international threat, the inability to produce weapons for our own defence would be insanity.
So British Steel must be saved, even if it means temporary nationalisation.
The PM deserves some credit for yesterday’s dramatic reprieve, even if it was cobbled together at the last minute.
But the chaos of our energy policy cannot continue.
We have long urged Sir Keir Starmer to end to the madness of Miliband’s green crusade.
After the British Steel debacle the PM must not delay.
Last week he said Donald Trump’s tariffs had created a new economy reality for the UK.
Forking out £363billion by 2050 to hit our Net Zero goals cannot be part of it.
Hand it back, Angela
THE sight of the filth-laden streets of Birmingham is sickening.
Labour’s response to the crisis engulfing ordinary voters has been timid.
Deputy PM Angela Rayner — responsible for ending the five weeks of horror which has made residents’ lives a misery — received £10,000 from the Unite union representing the striking binmen.
This cash constitutes a conflict of interest and must be handed back.
Otherwise the folk of our second city won’t be the only ones smelling a rat.
