NOW you can drive like a royal with King Charles’ former Land Rover set to go on sale.
A lucky collector can snap up the 17-year-old Land Rover Discovery 3 for a whopping price.
The estimated pre-sale figure is between £20,000 – £30,000Collecting Cars
The former Prince of Wales has owned several Land Rovers in the past few decades
Automotive sale specialists Classic Car Auctions (CCA) estimate the luxury car will sell for a figure in the region of £20,000 to £30,000.
However, the auctioneer will be hoping people bid well over the asking price to secure the royal Rover, as they have done to snap up other cars linked to the firm.
Queen Elizabeth’s 2004 Range Rover was sold for a whopping £132,750 at an auction.
And last year, CCA’s sister company, Iconic Auctioneers, sold two 4x4s for well over their market value.
CCA auctioneer Simon Langsdale said: “This is surely one for a serious Royal family collector and with the Prince Charles now King Charles, the vehicle has a double royal provenance, adding to its future value.
“One wonders if this will be the third royal 4×4 to make a world record with us?”
CCA and Iconic were awarded two world records for selling two motors at an auction which obliterated its pre-sale estimate.
The Land Rover Discovery belonged to Prince Charles before he became King.
The iconic motor boasts a durable 2.7-litre TDV6 diesel engine producing 195bhp with permanent four-wheel-drive.
With just three owners, the new SUV has covered 118,300 miles.
But CCA claimed it “looks and feels like a 40,000-mile example”.
It comes with luxury kit including heated front and rear seats, a cooled storage box, cruise control and black leather upholstery.
Auctioneers offer the vehicle with its original Book Pack including the handbook, a fully stamped service book and the navigation leaflet.
The all-purpose British 4×4 was delivered to The Royal Garage at Highgrove House in 2007, and the car is accompanied by official letters which confirm its history.
A similar royal vehicle was on auction and received much pre-sale publicity around the world.
This royal motor sold for over £120,000 at the Race Retro Sale in February 2023.
You can bid for King’s old Rover at The Practical Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale, which will be hosted at the NEC in Birmingham on March 23.
It comes after a replica of Princess Diana’s beloved Jaguar, used in the hit Netflix series The Crown, is set to sell for £20,000.
And, the car Prince Harry used to take Meghan Markle on dates at the beginning of their relationship is on sale for just over £40,000.
The new King does appreciate a Land Rover – using them regularly for visits and engagements
