PAUL SCHOLES got a ticking off from Laura Woods following his on-screen gaffe.

The Manchester United legend, 48, was on punditry duties for TNT Sports at Old Trafford as his former side took on Copenhagen.

But he somehow managed to break his microphone live on air in a hilarious blunder.

And that prompted presenter Woods to step in and come to the rescue – before jokingly tell Scholes off.

After asking Scholes a question and realising his mic was not working, Woods seamlessly and immediately held out her microphone for Scholes to speak into.

He continued with his answer perfectly – with the sound picked up from Woods’ microphone.

Then when he had finished, she joked: “Stop breaking the mics… what are you doing?”

An unimpressed Scholes then pretended to throw the dud microphone away, prompting laughter from Woods and Rio Ferdinand.

The trio were doing their pre-match preparations for United’s crunch Champions League clash.

Erik ten Hag’s men lost their opening two matches in Group A – to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

And that meant the pressure was on going into the game with the Danish giants.

Thankfully Scholes’ microphone was sorted out by the time they came back from the advert break.

It was an emotional night at OId Trafford, with a wreath laid on the pitch in honour of Sir Bobby Charlton.

The United and England legend passed away aged 86 on Saturday, with the news made public just hours before his former team kicked off at Sheffield United.
