THE LEADER of an extremist Islamic group that called for “jihad” at an anti-Israel demo has been exposed as an NHS GP.

Abdul Wahid is head of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the UK and celebrated Hamas’ brutal terror attacks this month as a “welcome punch on the nose” to Israel.

Abdul Wahid is head of extremist Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir – but it was revealed the agitator is also a GP

But he has spent more than 20 years practising as a family doctor under his real name Dr Wahid Asif Shaida.

Mr Wahid told a rally outside the Egyptian and Turkish embassies last week: “Victory is coming and everyone has to choose a side. Whose side are you going to be on?”

Another member of the group asked what the “solution” is to “liberate people in the concentration camp called Palestine” and was met with chants of “Jihad! Jihad! Jihad!”

Some of Mr Wahid’s shocked patients told the Mail on Sunday that they had no idea about his the double-life.

According to his Twitter account, Wahid yesterday attended a book launch for pal Shaikh Asrar Rashid.

Rashid previously claimed Hitler did Jews “a favour” by making them “popular” in Europe.

The Birmingham-based cleric also once labelled the late Queen Elizabeth II a “disgusting woman”.
