With Spurs fans celebrating in the background, Ferdinand’s face fell.

The camera then zoomed beyond Ferdinand to show Bale’s jubilant response.

Bale, who played 237 times for Spurs across two spells, beamed giddily as he clapped Johnson’s goal.

Fans loved the brilliant contrast between the two reactions.

One wrote on X: “It’s honestly like something out of The Office the way the camera zooms in on Bale after catching Rio looking crestfallen.”

The Welshman said: “It could be a ‘Unitedy’ thing now, I’m telling you.”

Ferdinand grumbled: “Can we get off air now, and talk about this?”

Bale then added: “It gets rid of that stigma now for sure and hopefully they can build on it.

“It’s amazing for the club, it’s been a long time coming. Now, Ange goes down as a legendary manager, winning a European [trophy].

“Now they’ve finally got it off their backs, hopefully this is a stepping stone to build off.

“They’ll have a cash injection with the Champions League, they’ll be able to get players in and strengthen from there.”
