Liverpool vs Man City preview
Can Arne Slot’s Liverpool inflict yet more misery on the Premier League champions?
It looks likely, on paper at least.
The Reds sit top of the Premier League table with a sizeable eight-point advantage over the chasing pack having dropped only five points all season.
They also lead the Champions League standings and are the only side to have secured maximum points following their deserved victory over Carlo Ancelotti’s holders Real Madrid.
Of Liverpool’s 19 competitive matches under Slot they’ve won 17, scoring 44 goals and registering 10 clean sheets.
They boast the lowest expected goals conceded (xGC) of any side in the Premier League (10.75) and trail only two sides for expected goals (xG).
All that certainly stands them in good stead for this weekend’s bout against a Manchester City side described as “fragile” by manager Pep Guardiola.
The Cityzens were also labelled “weak” and “frail” by Alan Shearer after surrendering a 3-0 Champions League lead against Feyenoord at Etihad.
Manchester City are now winless in their last six, losing five and conceding two or more goals in six successive matches in all competitions for the first time since May 1963.
City have not kept a clean sheet since 26 October and have shipped 17 goals since then, failing to score more than once away from home in their last four.
Guardiola can’t exactly draw on to many good memories from his past visits to Anfield either having only won ONCE in nine visits – losing five and drawing three.

Liverpool vs Man City preview betting tips and predictions
Rout
Conditions look ideal for Liverpool to secure an emphatic victory on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester City’s confidence levels are rock-bottom following a run of five defeats in six matches against the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Sporting Lisbon.
Only Leicester and Aston Villa have conceded more than City’s eight goals in the last four Premier League matches, while they’ve shipped 10 in their last four away games.

Super Salah
It’s not worth overcomplicating things this weekend, so I’m sticking with the dangerous Mohamed Salah to fill his boots.
The Egyptian superstar, 32, looks like a man on a mission – perhaps fuelled by contract speculation. He’s netted 12 goals in 19 appearances this season, scoring in each of his last five top-flight games.
He also boasts a fantastic record against the Cityzens having struck 11 goals and provided six assists in 21 meetings. Only against Manchester United does he have more goal involvements.
