LONDON’S King Cross station was today evacuated due to an “emergency” during rush hour.
A video posted on X showed chaos as commuters were escorted out of King’s Cross station.
The delays caused by the alarm led to overcrowding in the station, prompting staff to evacuate the area.
Photos posted on social media show crowds of commuters gathered next to the barriers.
Over the tannoy, commuters heard: “This is an emergency will all passengers leave the station immediately.”
The video posted on X shows passengers calmly walking toward the exits as they are escorted by staff.
TfL told The Sun that the evacuation was caused by a false fire alarm.
The London Fire Department was called to the scene but left after discovering the alarm was false.
Once TfL workers managed to control the crowding, the station was re-opened, and tube services resumed.
