LUKE LITTLER and Luke Humphries were both booed by a German crowd on the day that they were awarded MBEs.

Both darts superstars were named on the King’s birthday honours list ahead of competing for England at the World Cup of Darts.

The top-two ranked players in the world grinned as they cheekily sauntered over to the oche with Vindaloo booming through the arena speakers.

The pro-England party tune prompted a chorus of boos from the German crowd in Frankfurt.

But fans watching back in Blighty loved the “s***house” partisan walk-on.

One wrote on X: “Littler and Humphries coming out to Vindaloo is s***housery I can get on board with.”

While a second joked: “Give a knighthood to whoever’s idea it was to walk out to Vindaloo.”

A third gushed: “Coming out to Vindaloo. Pair of heroes!”

And another added: “VINDALOO HAHAHAHA WE ARE SO BACK.”

Unfortunately for the two Lukes, it was downhill from there.

Littler and Humphries were stunned by the German pair Ricardo Pietreczko and Martin Schindler.

After missing five darts to go up 3-2, the contest got away from England, with Germany going on to win 8-4.

The two Lukes’ poor displays sparked comparisons with Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard – who famously struggled to replicate their sparkling club form while playing together for the Three Lions.

Watching England’s nightmare unfold, one fan joked on X: “Littler and Humphries is Gerrard and Lampard for a new generation.”

While a second quipped: “Littler and Humphries is the new Gerrard and Lampard.”

Another added: “Littler and Humphries is the darting equivalent of Lampard and Gerrard. Absolute ballers. But cannot play together.”
