A GIANT wind turbine blade made its way through Hawick in the Scottish Borders on Saturday afternoon.
The 65-metre rotor is so massive it needs to be pointed upwards to avoid destroying nearby buildings, trees and lamp posts.

It was heading to the new Pines Burn Wind Farm, and is the 9th out of 21 blades that need to be transported there.
Transporting the mega sized blades causes significant traffic disruption and has previously attracted local vandals.
In November, the tyres of the vehicle transporting one of the turbines was slashed by local thugs near Hawick.
Residents hit out at the deliveries of the rotors to the wind farm, located five miles away, following hours of limited traffic.
The turbines are protected by a specially trained Police Scotland escort as they are classified as abnormal loads.
The project had initially been turned down by the council over its repercussions, and the firm in charge of fitting the blades near Hawick was also condemned.
But the Scottish Government ruled the advantages of the project would override any consequences on landscape.
