Major incident at Skegness Pleasure Beach as ride malfunctions leaving terrified visitors trapped in the air

A THEME park ride has malfunctioned leaving terrified visitors stuck in the air in a “major incident”.

Cops said they rushed to Skegness Pleasure Beach in Lincolnshire this afternoon and are currently attempting to “rescue” the people on the ride.

Other emergency services were also in attendance and it is not clear if anyone has been seriously injured.

Bottons took over the recreation park in 1965 and it features roller coasters and classic rides.

A spokesperson for Skegness Police said: “We are attending an incident at Skegness Pleasure Beach where a ride has malfunctioned and remains suspended in the air with a number of people stuck on the ride.

“Fire and ambulance are also attending.

“We ask members of the public to please avoid the area whilst emergency services work together to ensure the safety of the people on the ride whilst they are being rescued.

“No serious injuries have currently been reported.

“Incident 264 of 20 August refers.”
