A MAJOR new lead has come to light in the hunt for a missing girl and boy who vanished with camping gear over a week ago.

Isabelle and Daniel, both 16, disappeared from their home in Ceredigion, Wales, on April 7.

Worried family members have since taken to social media, pleading with the pair to return home and confirm they are “not in any trouble”.

But cops have now confirmed a new sighting of the teenagers in Aberystwyth, north Wales – suggesting they are still on the move.

In the update, shared to Facebook, Cardigan, Crymych, and Newcastle Emlyn Police said Isabelle and Daniel had been spotted on Alexandra Road near the town’s train station at 12.30pm.

It is believed they then caught the T1 bus which departed at 12.36pm.

Dyfed-Powys Police shared the post, with a fresh appeal to help find the teenagers.

They wrote: “Please let us know if you have information that could help us find them.”

Isabelle is described as 5ft3 with blonde hair – but it is believed she may have since dyed her hair a darker colour.

She was last seen wearing a black parker style coat with a fur edge and grey jogging bottoms.

Daniel, who is thought to be around 6ft 1, has short dark brown hair with shaved sides.

He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a black t-shirt, a black collared coat and a black baseball cap with white markings on the front.

However, both teens are understood to have taken a change of clothes with them.

While Isabelle was carrying a large black backpack, Daniel was spotted with a black, red and grey camping backpack.

Prior to their sighting in Aberystwyth, the pair were last seen at Llandunno train station at around 8.20pm, where they asked for directions to the Dolgellau.

They have connections to Gloucestershire, Merseyside and the North Wales area.

In an initial appeal, DI Rebecca Thomas said: “We are continuing our search to find Isabelle and Daniel.

“We know that they purchased camping equipment but they have left their homes without any communication and their family and friends are becoming increasingly concerned as they have had no contact with Isabelle and Daniel for almost a week.

“It is also known that they don’t have their mobile phones on them.

“I would ask anyone who has seen them to get in touch.

“I would especially appeal to Isabelle and Daniel to get in touch with the police or family so we can ensure that they are safe.”

Isobel’s aunt Laura Wilkins-Whitehead said: “Still missing, please share if you have connections in Machynlleth, Gloucestershire or Merseyside.

“Help bring my niece home, we are all worried sick.”

Whilst Dan’s sister, Jen Voce-Russell wrote on social media: “Hi, I am Dan’s sister – this appeal states last seen Llandudno however please share everywhere – particularly Forest of Dean and general Gloucestershire region as we have had numerous reported sightings there.”

His father has also spoken out, describing Daniel’s disappearance as “out-of-character” as he pleaded for his son to return home.

Dave told WalesOnline: “Dad’s here waiting for both of you, just get in touch. Your relationship will carry on and we will support it.

“Just get in touch so we have you here safe and sound and then we will look at the future for both of you, which is a good future.”

Anyone with information about their whereabouts should contact the police force for Cardigan, Crymych and Newcastle Emlyn Police quoting the reference 141 of April 7.
