She later died of her injuries and an investigation was launched by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
Another woman in her 20s was also hurt.
Jacob Clark, 25, from Luton, was arrested on Wednesday and was charged with murder earlier today.
He has been remanded into custody ahead of a court hearing at Luton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
A family member told The Sun: “It’s so hard. It’s the kind of thing you think would never happen to you. We are all devastated.
“Dianne was a great mum and grandmother. She was absolutely amazing. It should not have been her time to go.”
Meanwhile Dianne’s son Callum Cleary shared a photo of his “amazing” mother online in a heartbreaking tribute.
He published a picture of Dianne beaming in front of angel wings, writing online: “I still have no words. What a woman.
“This Saturday we are going to be up at Lea Manor field to let off lanterns for my amazing mother.
“Let’s light up the sky for her.”
Detective Inspector Adam Bridges, leading the investigation, said: “We can confirm the sad news that Dianne Cleary sadly lost her life following this incident, and we have specially-trained officers supporting her loved ones.
“Our thoughts are with them.
“We continue to work around the clock on this case and are still appealing for anyone with information to contact police quoting Operation Wroxham.
“We recognise the impact this has had not only on Dianne’s relatives and friends but also the wider community, and thank them for their support and patience as we conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dianne’s death.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 quoting Operation Wroxham or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
