Man, 29, charged with murder of Daniel Allsop, 38, after he suffered ‘blunt force injuries’ and collapsed in McDonald’s

POLICE have charged a man with the murder of a 38-year-old who collapsed at a McDonald’s.

Daniel Allsop was found fighting for his life inside the restaurant in Blackpool after he was seriously assaulted.

He was raced to hospital where tragically died.

Cops said they have now charged Mali Wright, 29, with murder.

He will today appear in court over Daniel’s death.

Lancashire Police said: “A Home Office postmortem examination established that the cause of Daniel’s death was blunt force trauma.

“Following enquiries, a 29-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday.

“Yesterday evening, following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Mali Wright, 29, has been charged with Daniel’s murder. He has been remanded into custody to appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court this morning.

“Daniel’s family are aware of the development and continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

“We are continuing to appeal for witnesses and are particularly keen to hear from anybody who saw a disturbance or anything suspicious on Bethesda Road at around 4.30pm on Monday. We would also ask people to check their dashcam, doorbell, CCTV and any mobile phone footage from the area to see if they have captured anything which could help our inquiry.
