Her daughter, 38, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now stable.

Damian Homer appeared at Warwick Crown Court today charged with murder and attempted murder.

The 50-year-old spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing.

No pleas were entered but a provisional trial date was set for August 27 this year.

Homer was remanded into custody to next appear at the same court on April 2.

Police were scrambled to the home in Haresfield Close at around 8.30pm on Saturday.

They discovered Wendy dead inside while her daughter was severely injured.

Tributes flooded in for the mum, who worked in a farm shop on the outskirts of Worcester.

Her devastated family said: “Wendy will be hugely missed; she was one in a million and much-loved.”

While the Fish Emporium posted on Facebook: “We are completely heartbroken to hear the awful news of the passing of the most wonderful lady Wendy Francis.

“She brightened our days every time she popped around to see us, with her lovely smile and she always made us giggle so much when she was working next door.

“Rest in peace Wendy you will never be forgotten and we are wishing your daughter Stacey a speedy recovery. We are sending all our love and thoughts to your wonderful family.”
